The tenth DIY kit in collaboration with the incredible Emma Gabrielli has everything you need to create an abstract embroidery hoop using one of my printed textures.
The main rule for the kit is that there are no rules - there is a basic instruction booklet that gives you a few tips and starting points, but don’t forget that you can contact me at any point if you need help or guidance. It is important to remember that this is not a “how to” guide, and isn’t a paint by numbers kit - no patterns to follow!
The key is to be experimental and to try and think outside the box. I’m not going to give you a step by step guide on how to create the same hoop as mine, there’s no fun in that!
For absolute beginners, try not to worry - I didn’t know how to stitch two years ago, and the reason I love the abstract patterns so much is that no one know what it’s supposed to look like!
And for those seasoned pros out there, try and take a step back. Don’t think about the rules or the finished piece, try and let the free-form shapes and colours lead you to a more intuitive stitching experience.
For the second time in my DIY kits, I have included a selection of beads including semiprecious stones and freshwater pearls. There are beginners instructions included on how to use them, but you can ask me any questions you need to!
Each kit contains :
- 1 x 5” beech embroidery hoop
- 1 x printed fabric sample
- A selection of DMC embroidery thread
- Embroidery needles
- 1 x handy needle threader
- 1 x set of basic instructions, hints and tips
- 4 x beautiful mini transparent art prints created by the amazing Emma Gabrielli, that can be overrated to create your own mini artwork.
- A selection of seed and semi precious stone beads
For the first time, the kits don’t include a pair of embroidery scissors or snips - this is unfortunately due to a large number of orders being flagged during customs checks, causing huge delays and extra costs.
All kit orders should be dispatched within 7 working days
Shipping costs the the US have increased by over 50% here in the U.K., so I will now be offering a basic and an upgraded shipping option. Please note with the basic shipping option, tracking will not be available and I unfortunately can’t take responsibility for lost packages - I will still provide proof of postage. I would always recommend using the tracked and signed for option for international orders.
I can’t wait to see what you all create, don’t forget to tag me in your work and use #saltstitchesdiy so I can see!
Salt Stitches DIY kits are for personal craft project use only and any sales of finished pieces created with my fabrics are strictly prohibited.
The photographs are for illustrative purposes only, and do not reflect everything included in the kit. This is due to delays in shipping for all of the printed elements.
