Welcome to the twelfth DIY kit in collaboration with the incredible Amelia Voos and Elijah Davis!
This kit has everything you need to create an abstract embroidery hoop using one of my printed textures.
The main rule for the kit is that there are no rules - there is a basic instruction booklet that gives you a few tips and starting points, but don’t forget that you can contact me at any point if you need help or guidance. It is important to remember that this is not a “how to” guide, and isn’t a paint by numbers kit - no patterns to follow!
The key is to be experimental and to try and think outside the box. I’m not going to give you a step by step guide on how to create the same hoop as mine, there’s no fun in that!
For absolute beginners, try not to worry - I didn’t know how to stitch when I first started embroidery 6 years ago, and the reason I love the abstract patterns so much is that no one know what it’s supposed to look like!
And for those seasoned pros out there, try and take a step back. Don’t think about the rules or the finished piece, try and let the free-form shapes and colours lead you to a more intuitive stitching experience.
For this kit, I have included a selection of seed beads including some semiprecious stones. There are beginners instructions included on how to use them, including checking the size of your needles, but if you need any extra help please don’t forget to reach out!
Each kit contains :
- 1 x 5” beech embroidery hoop
- 1 x printed fabric sample
- A selection of DMC embroidery thread
- Embroidery needles
- 1 x handy needle threader
- 1 x set of basic instructions, hints and tips
- 4 x beautiful mini art prints created by Amelia and Elijah
- A selection of seed and semi precious stone beads
Dispatch and shipping times will vary depending on destination, but all orders will receive a dispatch update once they have been sent.
Shipping costs have increased by almost 50% in the last few months, so I will be offering a basic and an upgraded tracked shipping option.
Please note with the basic shipping option, tracking will not be available and I unfortunately can’t take responsibility for lost packages - I will still provide proof of postage. I would always recommend using the tracked and signed for option for international orders.
Salt Stitches DIY kits are for personal craft project use only and any sales of finished pieces created with my fabrics are strictly prohibited.
Photographs of the kits are for illustrative purposes only, and reflect previously released kits, thread and bead colours may differ from the colours on your screen.
